--- June 4, 2000 --- Well, it's been an interesting month! There's probably more people reading this than their emails from us due to the unfortunate email incident. For those of you not in the know, somehow the address to send emails to our entire list got into the "from" box, and subsequently, all responses to our webmaster went out to everyone on the list. There was no tapeworm, virus, flu, common cold, sniffles, or anything else remotely contagious going on, other than ignorance, so have no fear. The problem has since been fixed. In better news, we have been doing some pre-production recording and playing-back stuff in preparation for the re-recording of our debut album "Gathering Stones". We will be in the studio June 16-28, and hope to have it released on some random Tuesday in August (probably the first one). We are the chosen band for the Cerebral Arts Festival after-party at the Tamiami on June 9. We are doing a showcase event at The Orpheum in Ybor City on June 15. We are also doing another F.O.R.M.L. Hemp Fest on July 1st in Zephyrhills. Should be fun! Caio, Namaste, Adios, and cyalaterbye, until next month... --- May 6, 2000 --- The big news is the new album. ...or the old album ...or lack thereof. The original Gathering Stones album was recorded nearly 2 years ago. Due to the lack of a rhythm section, the bass was played (kind of) by Rocco, doing the best he could on the spot, and the drums were played by a session player (Sean Snyder). Although the tracks sounded great at the time, the band has evolved into a much tighter, groovier, dynamic band since the lineup has been solidified (I like that word). With the addition of Kevin on drums and Bridges on bass, we feel that the original recordings no longer do the music justice, so we've decided to re-record the entire album. We will also be taking off some songs, and adding some others, to make it a total of 10 songs. The recording will take place June 16-28 at Janson Multimedia Studios in Hudson, FL. It will be engineered by Dave Eichenberger of Future Perfect / Hazard Factor, and Kevin. It will be produced by Rocco, and mixed by Harvest. Shows, shows, and more shows... Cinco de Mayo at The Pharm, the
F.O.R.M.L. Hemp Fest in Tampa, Gasoline Alley, and lots more... Also in the works is the Gathering Stones 2000 Tour! A quick jaunt up and down the East Coast of America and then it's back to work here locally. We hope to start the snowball rolling on a regional level by touring a couple times a year. Well, that's it for now, stay tuned for more of your favorite local musical insight... ---
April 4, 2000 --- Monday night, May 8, tune in to http://www.coffeestain.com for our first-ever WORLDWIDE BROADCAST on the Coffeestain Radio show! ---
February 25, 2000 --- The band is juggling right now... Well, they're not literally juggling, they're just doing a few things at once. The debut album "Gathering Stones" is in the process of being mixed, and then off to the Dupe house it goes. While the band anxiously awaits the release of the album that took nearly 2 years to finish, they will be in pre-production for album number two, tentatively titled "Damn, That Took Forever". Actually there is no real name yet, I just made that up. Anyway, in between all of this stuff, the band is currently playing shows around the Tampa Bay Area. Then they're going to Switzerland.
